Tues 17th July: 5 Water Babies

Once again I fell for the bogus information issued by the HK Observatory and stayed home rather than getting stranded when the T3 signal went up.  As it happened I was able to get a lot of things done which I usually don't have time for, so time wasn't wasted but still.

There are 4 girls and 1 boy, all very healthy
The five puppies rescued from the sea went to Acorn for their check-up and first vaccinations, and they are fine and now staying at our very over-crowded Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre.  Foster homes are really urgently needed until we can start moving pups into adoptive homes but that won't start to happen until the end of the summer holidays unfortunately.   If you can help out you should know the contact details by now, but if not it's Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com for all enquiries.

As you can see from the photo, there are a lot of puppies to choose from!
Puppies and more puppies!

A new adult dog was also taken from AFCD and is now a Tai Po resident, although of course it wasn't me who picked the dog up so I need to find out about his story when I am next at the Pokfulam AFCD Centre.  Sometimes there is a bit of a background known, other times nothing, but anything that can help is useful.

Smartie is back with his previous foster

Another new dog, although not staying at Tai Po, is a male border collie, one who I was trying to take for re-homing a couple of years ago but didn't end up getting.  He went to a home who subsequently gave him back to the previous foster, so he will be staying there until a new home can be found.  There is nothing wrong with Smartie in terms of behaviour, and at seven years he is still young enough to be under what is considered to be a senior.  If you are interested in adopting this most intelligent of breeds, please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt) to arrange a meeting.
