Sun 1st July: A quiet but happy day

It's Eva's turn to adopt, and Doris is her choice
I'm going to start today's post  with some happy news from Tai Po as two dogs were adopted, kind of together but not by the same person.  Our own Eva took Doris, while roommate Wing becomes Bossy's new parent, but as they will be sharing the same home it's like a double adoption.  I was so happy to know Bossy was finally chosen because I have known her since she was a baby pup, and only timing and bad luck meant she missed out all those years ago.

I'm so happy for Bertie
I can't say it was a busy afternoon at Whiskers N Paws and it looked as though we were going to end up without any adoptions, that is until Bertie's foster said she wanted to adopt him.  That's always the best outcome, as there is no settling in time required or explanations about what to expect, and Bertie is already very happy where he is.
Tinker was brave enough to explore

It was a first time at Whiskers N Paws for shy Lamma puppies Tinker and Taylor, but I have to start getting them used to people and new experiences.  Their brothers, Sailor and Beano, have done incredibly well after having been in foster, so at the end of the afternoon I decided to leave the two girls at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre for some hardcore socialisation.  Tinker had at least been walking around on the terrace at Whiskers N Paws, while Taylor refused to get out of the crate to show off her incredibly cute and beautiful fuzzy face.  This litter are from the same family as previously timid Figgy, who did very well once she had been adopted.  We've seen Figgy at the puppy afternoons a couple of times and she is such a pretty dog and not at all shy now.
This was a very shy Figgy pup in February
Even Sailor and Beano couldn't persuade sister Taylor to come and play

We set up the small puppy enclosure on the terrace but as everyone was getting along so well it was never used.  The tiny babies mixed with the bigger ones, and everyone had a great time as you can see from the photos by volunteer photographer Jimmy Tsang  Puppy Adoption Day 1 July 2018
