Tues 7th March: Arrivals and adoptions at Elgin Street

Kelly and Kindle have a big lookalike brother

It was another crazy day, meaning normal in the world of dog rescue work, as two new puppies and three young adult dogs were dropped off at the Elgin Street location.  The arrival had been planned in advance this time, with the photos and details having been shared on my blog last week in the hope that we would have adopters waiting.  That part of it worked well, in fact a bit too well as several homes were offered to the same puppy, the scruffy terrier-type I shared again on yesterday's post.  Happily two of those potential homes were diverted to other puppies, while the black girl, Kelly, ended up going home with her lookalike brother, Kindle.
Poodle Kip was impossible not to love

Another of today's incoming group also had a lot of interest, and his adopters were waiting all afternoon for him to turn up so they wouldn't miss the chance.  I should mention that the dogs were due to arrive between 2pm and 3pm, and I had gone over from Lamma so I could check them in and hopefully see them leave again, but the delivery was delayed until 5pm when I had already gone.  Anyway, the popular dog was a young poodle I had named Kip, and it was love at first sight by his now-family.

Now of the five who came, there are just two young adults staying at Elgin Street (Katie and Kai), along with the longer-staying guests Teddy, Hetty, Dilly and Nettie downstairs, and office manager Nacho upstairs.

I completely forgot to mention that sweet Tawny left a couple of days ago, and she is now called Toffee.  I'm also hoping that by the time most of you read this post, Dilly will also have packed her bags and headed off to start her new life, and not before time.  She's the happiest and funniest little dog, always full of fun and loving everyone.

Ali really loves everyone

Please remember that we have many gorgeous puppies also waiting for foster homes or to be adopted, and I can highly recommend Amos, a small-sized boy, and Ali, probably the most affectionate puppy ever. (April is my top favourite but I think she'll be adopted on Wednesday, while her brother Archer is now in a foster home).  There are obviously plenty of others who will be promoted to the top of the list for naming, but I can't fit them all in here.  Just go and see for yourselves.
Amos's black mask is unmistakable

The puppies aren't only at Elgin Street, they're also at the Kennedy Town Homing Centre and in foster homes, and as a reminder here are the photos from Sunday's Whiskers N Paws Puppy Party once again  Puppy Adoption Day 5th March 2023.  Most of the names have been added to the photos by now, so if you're interested in meeting any of them please start by completing the adoption questionnaire so we can let you know how and where to head to.
