Sun 19th March: "Flowers" for fosters

The students and foster parents

Something to brighten up the day, the puppy bouquets that I wrote about yesterday were brought to the Puppy Party at Whiskers N Paws, and handed over as gifts of thanks to our wonderful foster parents. It's such a lovely idea and gesture, so many thanks to the students of Marymount Primary School, and their teacher, for coming up with such an original idea.

There were fewer puppies in attendance this Sunday because of the kennel cough at both Elgin Street and Kennedy Town, but thankfully it seems to be a mild outbreak and not all of the puppies are affected.  Still, we decided not to risk letting them infect any others, so there was more space on the terrace for the inevitable games: Puppy Adoption Day 19th March 2023 by Kevin Chan.  If you're interested in adopting, please complete the questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/

I can't wait to get Easter out of the way, because once again we have a lot of potential adopters planning overseas getaways for the holiday, as well as foster parents having to return their puppies.  Under normal circumstances the small and medium-sized dogs staying at our Elgin Street Centre would have been adopted by now, as would the small-medium puppies like Max, Mason and Melody, as well as little Lennox (you can see these puppies in today's photo album).

Oreo is just 2 years old

Just as a reminder of the adults dogs now staying at HKDR@Elgin, there's poodle Nacho, bichon Lola and Oreo the chihuahua upstairs, with terriers Scruffy and Teddy downstairs, along with mixed breeds Kai, Katie and Hetty.  You can see their details and photos on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com/dogs/
We all love Nacho!

You may recall me mentioning that Lola was quite traumatised at being abandoned by her family, but she has really started to settle now as you can see by this short video.  I hope someone can offer her a home again, because at ten years of age she really deserves that.

We also have three more smaller dogs coming on Monday, including a young poodle, so please come back tomorrow to read about them.  The two mixed breeds are older puppies and look to be border collie types from the photos I was sent, but they're not good enough for sharing.
