Sat 11th March: Another busy day and preparing for Sunday

Even though I have no adoption photos to share it doesn't mean that there wasn't a lot of activity taking place today, especially at Elgin Street where the three "Tiny Tots" proved to be much in demand and have already left the Centre (in case you're planning to come to meet them).

Sweetheart poodle-ish girl Nettie also left HKDR@Elgin with her foster parents, while Lola, the just-surrendered bichon, should be leaving on Sunday.  I'm very grateful to the foster parents of these two dogs, especially Lola's as she was so distressed at being abandoned by her family.

Over at Kennedy Town one of the lovely doglets was taken home for a trial with another ex-HKDR dog, and as always I'll save the photo for when the adoption is confirmed.  I'm pretty sure this is going to work out but still, I prefer not to share any photo at this point.

Little Lennox last Sunday at WNP

I should mention that in terms of easiness, the age that many of the Kennedy Town puppies are now is perfect.  They're still young but not babies, so you get all the fun without the toilet training and puppy biting that's part of growing up and learning for every baby.   You can meet many of these puppies, as well as those lucky enough to be in foster homes, at Whiskers N Paws every Sunday from 2pm to 4pm.  Here's a full list of the KT puppies, remembering that we also have many at the Elgin Street Centre too!  Something for everyone in other words.

Trainer Alice and the English-speaking graduates

Since I have brought up the subject of training, it's a good time to remind everyone of our very popular Positive Partners training classes which take place every month at Whiskers N Paws HKDR Positive Partners 老友狗狗.  The classes are offered in English and Cantonese, so everyone can participate.  The point of the training course is to provide a basic understanding of what positive training means and how it works, and it's then up to the families to use that knowledge to continue and build on the concepts learned.  As one of the February participants posted: "Teacher Alice was amazingly kind, professional and wonderful. Parsta has learned a lot - she is able to walk on leash and enjoy the magical nature with us now

❤️❤️❤️❤️. Thank you so much! We (Parsta and her parents) miss coming to class already!"

Even if you can't attend the training courses in person, or you would like to continue with learning more about your dog and dog behaviour, you can sign up for Cactus Mok's training webinars (Cantonese only) at Rescue Happiness.  This is the latest in the series:
