Adam got his second chance |
I'm very happy to announce the adoption (again) of beautiful Adam, this time to a family who have adopted from HKDR before and who know about dogs (both parents being vets) so there'll be no panic about Adam's history of distemper. Now we can concentrate on finding the same good luck for Turpin, another returnee who deserves much better than he's had in the past.
Some reminders about things I've mentioned in recent posts, the first being that this Saturday we're holding a small adoption event in Sai Kung for some of our top Tai Po dogs, meaning those that we think are the best potential family members. We'll be there from 2pm to 4pm only, so please make sure you get there in good time if you're interested in meeting some of the candidates.
Another reminder that we have moved the small and medium-sized dogs to our HKDR@Elgin site at 22 Elgin Street, Soho, and we still need more volunteers to help out please. If you can spare a couple of hours (or more), especially over the weekend, please email Cam at
Skye has already been adopted |
elgin@hongkongdogrescue.com to let her know.
We always need weekday volunteers at our Tai Po Homing Centre, as well as another paid staff member. I've shared the description of the type of candidate we're looking for, and usually one of our existing volunteers will step forward as they already understand what's involved. However if you haven't yet started volunteering and are keen to work with dogs, please email eva@hongkongdogrescue.com. I won't lie and say this is easy work, but it's satisfying and meaningful, and you'll get a great workout without having to join a gym.
We're moving ahead with the production of our 20th Anniversary Book, and still have some places available for HKDR-adopted dogs to be included. Cam is again the one to email about this (elgin@hongkongdogrescue.com) as the photos will be taken at our Elgin Street location.
