Every time I see one of the little-eared, pink-nosed white dogs I'm struck by how similar they are, pretty much identical in fact. This is definitely a "breed" now, as they're so distinctive and share the same sweet naure, and here's a happy story of one such "Little White, Ted.
This is Claudia, I'm not sure if you remember but my family adopted Ted back in late November 2020. Since then, Ted has enjoyed beaches, hiking, and many other adventures in Hong Kong. Since September 2021, Ted has made the big move with me to Boston for a new job, and seeing all the stories of people leaving their dogs behind has made me sad so I wanted to just offer help to anyone who is looking to relocate to the US East Coast and maybe even share my experience with them. Hopefully, it might inspire some people to think twice before surrendering their pets...
In any case, Ted has been having the time of his life in Boston. He's experienced his first snowstorm, gone on the subway to explore the city, running after turkeys (which run wild here), and even been on a ski trip! Please enjoy some of the photos and I hope many other HKDR dogs will get to experience what he has
Puddle-Loki at WNP in January |
We do have one of these "Little White" puppies still waiting for a home, so if you want to become the lucky adopter of Puddle, aka Loki, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
With many puppies in foster homes at the moment, and the puppy sessions at Whiskers N Paws being scaled down quite a bit, we're encouraging potential adopters to keep checking our HKDR Facebook page for photos and information about available puppies, especially those that are ready for adoption or coming up to that magic age (minimum eight weeks).
Meet these puppies at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre |
Our two Homing Centres continue to stay open every day as the dogs and puppies need to be fed and walked and the premises properly cleaned, so you can still visit to meet potential family members by appointment. Please start by completing the adoption questionnaire so we can let you know if we have what you're looking for, and where to go to meet suitable matches.
Just as a reminder, we will soon be closing our Homing Centre at Ap Lei Chau (sadly) and moving to a new location in Kennedy Town. However, since the new space won't be completed by the end of February when we have to vacate our current Homing Centre, there will be a couple of weeks when we'll be camping in a temporary place, probably Elgin Street in Soho. We would prefer to send as many dogs and puppies to foster homes as possible for this in-between period, so if you can take in a temporary boarder please let Cindy know by emailing foster@hongkongdogrescue.com.
