Fri 18th Feb: Can you foster Coby?

Coby needed to go straight to the vet

The new dog from AFCD Sheung Shui came today, and although we'd been told he had a problem with one of his back legs from a previous break, it was bad enough that we had to send him straight to Acorn so Dr Tony could take a look.  There's an open wound on the joint which had pins sticking out from it, so obviously now-Coby had previous surgery to repair a break (unsuccessfully) and the site had become infected.   It's very painful for the poor boy, so he's staying in hospital at the moment so his wound can be treated, cleaned and dressed, but we'll need a foster home for him when he's OK to leave.  Coby is a young dog at only a year, and he's also very sweet.  If you can take him in until he's properly healed please contact Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com.

In only ten days we have to leave our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, and we're looking at where and how we can accommodate all of the dogs and puppies that are currently staying there.  There's going to be a couple of weeks before we can move into the new Kennedy Town space, so if you can take in a dog (or two), or a puppy (or two), again please let Cindy know.

It's probably the worst possible time to be having to move, with the cold and wet weather not helping anything, so your help and support are especially needed and appreciated.  I try as much as I can to keep my posts free of anything other than news about the dogs and puppies, but it's unfortunately impossible to ignore the current situation in Hong Kong which has created so many difficulties for everyone.  We have to keep our Homing Centres open because the dogs need to be fed and taken care of, and we will continue to operate normally as much as we can.  However we do need to ask that anyone wanting to visit to meet the dogs has first completed the adoption questionnaire and made an appointment, and we're not able to accept casual visitors or anyone who isn't coming specifically to adopt, or to collect a dog for fostering.

In foster and avilable for adoption

Please check our HKDR Facebook page Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) , or Instagram@hkdr_offical for dogs that are waiting, as well as puppies that are currently in foster homes and available for adoption.

 The questionnaire is at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
