Chow Mein (l) will stay behind when Jewel goes to Whiskers'N'Paws |
I thought we'd add a few different dogs to the mix at Whiskers N Paws this weekend, so as well as puppies we'll also have French bulldog Nibs, beagle Tracker and chow chow Jewel, all one year old so really not much more than puppies. Alaskan malamute Zara will also be back to meet a potential adopter, so it's going to be a big party with lots of zoomies I expect.

Will Nattie (shwon here) finally find her own home? |
If you don't know what zoomies are, and many adopters don't, they're the completely mad moments that all happy dogs have, when they suddenly and for no apparent reason run like crazy at top speed around a room or garden. If inside it usually involves jumping on furniture as a miniature racetrack, leaping from chair to sofa with a look of mad glee on their faces, and generally appearing as if they've completely lost their minds. Zoomies are the best fun, but if you stand in the way of the puppies at Whiskers N Paws once the races start you're likely to get knocked over.

Dorset with her foster parent on the way to her forever home |
Doberman Dorset went to her new home today, and thanks again to her wonderful foster parent who helped so much. As I have said many times before, being in a foster home can make all the difference to a dog and its chances of being adopted, and this was certainly the case with Dorset who had waited such a long time for this moment.

One more week to go until the "Sarge'n'Pepper Lonely Hearts Club" gala event, and if you're wondering why I keep repeating the same thing you'd be surprised at how many people completely miss big events no matter how many times we post, advertise and promote. "I wish I'd known" is a phrase that pops up every year, so please, if you are thinking about coming to a fantastic evening that will be great fun as well as raising money for HKDR, book NOW!
