Mon 1st Oct: Last month's adoptions and this month's Gala

I have to start with the amazing number of dogs that were adopted in September, and even better knowing there are others in the pipeline which missed being included in last month's total.  Even so, if you think that fifty dogs leaving makes a big difference to the available space at our Homing Centres you have to remember that we took in over thirty from a breeder, so in real terms we were just shifting dogs around. Still, fifty dogs adopted represents a huge effort by our small team of staff at Tai Po and Ap Lei Chau, as well as the open hearts of quite a few of our typhoon foster homes who decided to keep their four-legged guests.

Here's the full list:

Look at all of the dogs' faces as they are our Lonely Hearts Club Mmebers
After many months of planning, and I mean since just after last year's Gala Event when I had already decided on this year's theme, the "Sarge'n'Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club" fundraising evening is about to happen, on Saturday 13th October to be exact.

The Beatles-themed event is celebrating not only our long-termers and member of the Lonely Hearts Club, but also our HKDR 15th Anniversary, and I can promise you a great evening with all sorts of entertainment and lots of fun, as well as our best efforts to raise as much as possible of course. We already have an almost full house but if you are still planning to come along, please email Nicole, this year's Volunteer Event Planner, at nicole@hongkongdogrescue.com as soon as possible.  The dress code as always is Black Tie or costume, and I have had my outfit worked out for some time.  There's a huge choice when it comes to the Beatles, even if you can't remember them at all.  Just Google and you'll see.

We're also in need of volunteers for the event, both for set-up in the afternoon and during the evening itself.  Please email Nicole again for details of times and what's required at nicole@hongkongdogrescue.com, thank you.

Catching up on Sunday's Whiskers N Paws puppy afternoon, here is the second set of photos by volunteer photographer Joanna Wong
 Puppy Adoption Day 30 September 2018 - Part 2

I'm happy to see all of our beautiful puppies again, and to be able to pick out the best shots to help them find homes.  Here's Nattie's brother, Frisbee, looking very smart and proud.  He's also just a medium size, and at seven months really just at a perfect age for adoption.
