Sun 2nd July: Another rainy day

Ocean is the black-and-white one

There were some happy adoptions today despite the very heavy rain, the first from Kennedy Town as puppy Ocean was chosen (and long overdue I think).  Ocean will have a playmate to introduce her to her new life, and I'm sure she'll quickly settle in.

One more from the family-of-ten poodle types, Gunner, will also be heading off on Monday for a short trial with the resident dog, so that will leave seven still to find homes for.  We're also still urgently in need of a foster home for Gala so she can have knee surgery before Dr Tony leaves for his summer break, so if you can help with this please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com today. (Gaia and Grace are back from their hospital stay at Concordia and doing well).

Isla testing her new bed

Another poodle also found her forever home after quite an extended stay with her foster parents.  In fact Isla could have stayed forever if only the resident poodle had agreed, but there was some jealousy spoiling that option.  During her stay in foster Isla has had the opportunity to recover mentally and physically from her years as a breeder dog, so now she can start again, this time with a cat as a companion.
Very sweet senior Basil

I'm also very happy to report that senior dog Bagel, who was cruelly abandoned at AFCD when her family left Hong Kong, has been offered a wonderful new home starting on Monday.

Willa is already a doglet and still quite small

There weren't too many puppies at the Whiskers N Paws party thanks to the rain that meant everyone needed to stay inside for most of the time, but regular volunteer photographer Jimmy Tsang did a great job as always  Puppy Adoption Day 2nd July 2023 .  You can't tell from the photos, but there are a lot of small-medium puppies available, like Willa, Luke, Penny, Pip and Paxton.  This means that they won't be larger than 15 kilos as adults, and maybe even smaller.   If you would like to meet any of the puppies shown, please start by completing the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/
