Thanks again to our regular and quite amazing baby puppy fosters, not forgetting Cindy the Foster Coordinator, we had somewhere for all seven of the surviving Beach Babies to go to by early morning. They will never know how lucky they were.
I was very happy to receive a message from AFCD about one of last year's smuggling case dogs, a female husky now a year old and being released on Monday. She's been in AFCD kennels for six months, so anyone adopting her will have to expect that training will need to start from ground zero, even if we know she will have been well treated as far as her interaction with humans is concerned. AFCD are nothing like they used to be when I first started taking dogs from there and we have a very good relationship with the staff these days, and they all seem to care about the animals in their kennels. Hopefully this first release means there will be others following, as all have been waiting a very long time.
You all know that when you adopt from HKDR you get more than just a dog or a puppy, you also get the full support of our very experienced trainer Cactus Mok. In fact Cactus is so much in demand these days with non-HKDR dog adopters asking her for advice that she has set up a dedicated Facebook page to help answer some of the more frequent questions: https://www.facebook.com/rescuehappiness/
In case you're wondering about our puppies and why they're not featured on our website along with all of the other adult dogs, it's because they change and grow so quickly that we would have be update the profile photos on a weekly basis, which is too time consuming to be able to manage. However we always have puppies for adoption and you can meet them any day of the week at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre or at Tai Po, and on Sunday afternoons 2pm - 4pm at Whiskers N Paws, 10/F/ Horizon Plaza, Ap Lei Chau. You can always see photos of individual puppies on (staff member) Eagle's Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/HKDR.DOGGIES, or here on my blog.
