Tues 7th Sept: Igoo's big day finally arrived!

The new puppy Tickle is doing much better after his (not her, my mistake) blood transfusion and a relieved Feta returned to the Homing Centre after her overnight stay at Concordia Pet Care.

However the big news for today was the adoption of pomeranian-cross Igloo, after a very long wait.  I'm sure there's the right home for every dog, and just like Romeo who continues to improve daily, I think Igloo will also settle into her new home.

Most of the adoption enquiries I receive are for small or medium-sized dogs and puppies, some even asking for particular breeds.  I don't know the reason, but as I have previously mentioned we haven't been getting the dogs in that we used to receive regularly, and as soon as any arrive you'll read about it here first.  Until then we do have some poodles, and of course the Red Dogs that are still waiting for their chance.

I would also like to give another reminder about the three young shiba inu that are available: Gumbo, King and Damson. They're typical of the breed in their behaviour and not suitable for first time owners, homes with children or small apartments, but in the right environment they'll be fine, just as they are currently.  If you're interested you can find their details on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com/dogs/

Smudge, one of the two brothers returned from their foster home at the weekend was also adopted, so now there's just Smiffy waiting.  Both boys have had the benefit of being in a great foster home which makes the move to a forever family so much easier.

Meanwhile, in their respective foster homes the four pairs of baby pups are just starting to open their eyes, and while it's not an exact date we can use this as the two-week mark.  The puppy shown here is Gail, the smallest of the litter, and we anticipate that she'll be medium sized given the comparative difference between her and her foster brother Gussie.

The heavy rain over the past couple of days has affected my phone and it now only works intermittently and I'm having to use email or Facebook Messenger instead of Whatsapp for the time being, just in case anyone sends me a message and doesn't get a reply.
