Sat 12th Sept: Goodbye and hello

There was amazing news from Ap Lei Chau in the morning as sisters Willa and Wonton were adopted together.  It was a long shot when their adopter was first asked if he would consider taking a pair, but clearly seeing them together and knowing they couldn't be separated worked.  We're all so happy for these sweet girls.

Senior mild-mannered poodle Linus was also chosen and will start his new life at the age of eleven, still not too old to begin again and enjoy walks and cuddles.

While these three lucky dogs were leaving Ap Lei Chau, new puppies were arriving but not before they'd been fed, cleaned and cuddled by the Tai Po volunteers who don't usually get to see young puppies like these.  It seems everyone was excited about being able to bottle feed the babies, or attend to the slightly older three who needed to have a few unwanted passengers removed (fleas and ticks) before being sent over.  Cindy had foster homes waiting so all of the new arrivals were picked up by the end of the afternoon, the three older pups just needing to wait until their first vaccination before returning to the Homing Centre.   The babies' eyes aren't open yet so it will be a few weeks before we see them again.

  1. I always think of the poor mother who has lost her babies, and being so young that their eyes aren't open yet. XXX
