We were discussing the possibility of re-starting the Sunday puppy afternoons at Whiskers N Paws until I took a look at the weather forecast and saw the weekend is going to be another wet one, so it won't be happening just yet. The puppies are, of course, available to meet every day of the week at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, but the terrace at Whiskers N Paws is a fun place for them to be able to run around, as well as offering rather more space than we have at the small Homing Centre.
We now have eighteen puppies staying at our Homing Centre and available to meet any day, but please make sure you complete the adoption questionnaire before coming to visit. It's at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/ (These puppies will all be medium-large to lerge as adults).
We took in another gorgeous puppy today, now called Crinkle, a sibling of the recent three that came to us on Saturday. In fact Crinkle looks very like his brother Felix. They're not old enough to be adopted individually yet, unless there's already another dog in the home that will welcome a new baby brother or sister. However all of the younger puppies can be adopted on a 1+1 basis, meaning adopt one, foster one, until they're old enough to be separated.
Today's very happy Tai Po news was the double adoption of Thor and Guava who had come as a pair and will now stay together for ever. That's the best kind of adoption!
Also vying for top place in the "best kind of adoption" stakes, (very) old dachshund Dasher also has a forever-until-the-end home now, an amazingly kind offer given Dasher's age.
Unfortunately not all old dogs are so lucky, and there was sad news from Tai Po today as long-termer Pickle had to be euthanised as the recently-diagnosed lymphoma was taking over. We had started treatment but Pickle was getting weaker and his time had come. He was loved throughout his life and until the end, but he was never chosen to be someone's special forever friend.
