Fri 11th Sept: Freedom must feel amazing

We used to get almost all of our dogs and puppies from AFCD up until this year, but things have changed such a lot that hardly any of the intake now come via the government's Animal Management Centres and are instead those who are independently rescued or surrendered directly.   The two "cage dogs" arrived at Tai Po and are now called Shanti (female) and Benny, and for this lovely pair being at the Homing Centre must seem like heaven compared to their previous life in a tiny prison.  Can you imagine the thrill of just walking outside like this?

While four foster puppies came back to Ap Lei Chau so they can be seen by potential adopters, I got a message about yet more "rain babies" who had been picked up, drenched and crying.  Cindy will be handling the foster enquiries, and I think and hope there are already homes waiting.

Two of the returnees today were part of the "Water Baby" litter, Stream and Lagoon, and the other two are the sharpei-cross "D" Litter, Duster and Derek.

There may also be some slightly older puppies coming too, still very much babies but at least at an age where bottle feeding won't be necessary.

Once again please complete the questionnaire if you're considering adoption (www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/), but remember that while very small now these puppies will grow very quickly.
