I wish I could start the New Year with only happy news, but we're on Puppy Watch right now with the young parvovirus victims fighting for their lives in hospital. Some are doing OK, others struggling, and there was one today who didn't make it. Every day that they survive is a step closer to recovery, and at least once they turn the corner and start eating their chances are good. To cheer us up we had one little dog leaving the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre to start his new life with a family, and that's Alfie the poodle. There were quite a few potential adopters too, and I hope that additional homes will materialise over the coming days.
