A 'dogalogue' is another word I made up, and it's the canine version of catalogue in case you were wondering. We have so many lovely small and medium-sized dogs at our Kennedy Town North Street Centre that we (Eagle) created an easy-to-see thumbnail chart of them all, with the full photos and descriptions on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com/dogs/.
Jax and Johnnie |
Just before sharing those photos, I should mention the adoptions, one of which I completely forgot to write about on Sunday as there was no photo. This is the Foster Fail Jill, now Rain, one of the three totally gorgeous and very small doglets staying at Instagram @why_i_foster, with the other two boys, Jax and Johnnie, still available at this point. They have been promised a home at a later date, but as in all cases except for the very few exceptions, we can't hold dogs or puppies for pick up at a later date. We desperately need the space, whether in a foster home or at our own Centres, so if another good home is offered that can take the dog or puppy immediately then we don't want to lose that chance.
Navy is really too cute! |
Another Foster Fail which was no surprise at all is Navy, one of the adorable terrier-type puppies that stayed at Whiskers N Paws for a very short time.
Claude |
French bulldog Babette's trial adoption was very short too, and she is now adopted and with the new name of Ginger. Unfortunately Claude was a bit too playful for the resident old dog, and at only a year old that's to be expected. So Claude is now back at North Street and I assume not for too long as he's cute and funny and all of those Frenchie things. Another Frenchie female, Bijou, is also still waiting for a home, and she's also still young at only three years.
Sadly Bijou will need to have one of her eyes removed, so we need a foster home where she can recover from the surgery. Also urgently in need of foster care is the young shiba inu girl, Kira, who came from a breeder with a serious twitch in her back leg. It means she can't fully rest, which is really sad, and I'm hoping there's something that can effectively help her muscles to relax. Igloo the shiba puppy girl came from the same appalling and illegal breeder, and she had the first of her surgeries to correct the awful knees which cause her to walk like a frog. She will also need further surgery on the bendy bones once she is an adult, as this type of surgery can't be carried out while a puppy is still growing. Believe me, if there was any way I could find where this breeder was located, I would do my utmost to get the vile premises closed down. Those dogs are sick with distemper and all sorts of terrible genetic deformities, and it's shocking that people still buy them.
I need to mention again that our vet bills for all of these surgeries and treatments are horrendous, and we really need your support to help cover them. There's no question that we will do whatever's needed to fix the many issues that dogs come to us with, but it all costs a lot of money. Please check out the ways that you can donate at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/donate/, and thank you.
We have over forty dogs at North Street, many of them really gorgeous in both looks and personality. Please complete the questionnaire if you're interested in any of them, and we will reply as quickly as possible. The form is at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/.
Finally, a quick request for volunteer photographers for our Peak to Fong event in November. If you're handy with a camera and don't mind helping out on Sunday 26th November, please email me at sallyandersen@hongkongdogrescue.com. We need a team of volunteers who can help record this amazing event.
Jax & Johnny are so cute together! Just love them! <3
