I have to write a quick update as I'm running late today, so I'm going to talk about puppies needing foster homes, or forever homes of course. We have two sets of small-sized young puppies in foster homes, being Albert and Amber the (assumed) shiba-corgi crosses, as well as Smartie and Sunshine, an unknown mix but also very small.
Jax |
There were three adorable and very small doglets staying in foster at Instagram @why_i_foster, but while there are still three in the home, only two are now available. Why? Because little Jill, the girl, is staying as a sister for previous foster fail Little Blue. These gorgeous pups are really very small, and as older puppies with full adult teeth they won't be growing much bigger. I haven't been promoting them too much because it took a long time to get a vet appointment for their check-ups thanks to typhoons and Black Rain, but now they're all done and ready to go. Jax is confident and friendly with everyone, and would be fine in a home with young children. Johnny is more unsure of the world, but he loves belly rubs and is also fine with children once he's had a little time with them. Ideally Johnnie would be in a home with another dog, while Jax would be fine on his own.
Funny Yaddle is so sweet |
Also a slightly older puppy but still incredibly sweet, we need a home for big-eared Yaddle, currently in a foster home and in need of a forever family.
Do you remember the Rain Babies we used to take in all the time, the newborns that were rescued after heavy rain by a volunteer who went out searching in the middle of the night? We had to stop taking in these puppies when things went particularly crazy in the post-Covid situation, with few adoptions and so many puppies being born that we were overflowing. Well, I have been asked if we can help again, this time with a litter of nine puppies, not newborns, but still a large litter whose mother needs some respite from her babies' demands, and a volunteer who is desperate for somewhere for the puppies to go. Can you foster a pair? If so, please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com, or complete the foster questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/volunteer/fostering/. We will provide everything you need including food, bed, bowls and baby gates/fences, we just ask that you take care of the puppies until they can find their forever families.
Last call for foster homes, we're expecting two more shibas from the terrible breeder, one a puppy and the other a one year-old female. Both seem to be distemper survivors from the sound if it, but we will have to see once they arrive.
