Mon 11th Sept: Still talking about poodles

Laura didn't stay with us for long

It was no surprise that poodle puppy Laura was adopted today, and several other families had also asked about her.  I do want to remind everyone that although Laura was the only poodle who was six months old, there are many other poodles available, as well as small-sized puppies.  It seems obvious but I want to mention again that there's only a few months difference between Laura and a one year-old like poodle boy Nutty, and with poodles in general being quite long-lived, you will still have ten-plus years together if you adopt a young adult.

This was from poodle Twiggy's adopter, a Failed Foster I mentioned yesterday, and I totally agree with the comment at the end about Foster Coordinator Cindy, and all of the work she puts into helping the foster parents and their temporary dogs.  Cindy is a volunteer, yet she works harder than almost anyone else.

"Hello HKDR & Cindy,

Thank You so much for all you do for the doggos!

What a fateful day May 1st was, visiting the poodles at ALC clinic with Sally swapping our Pomeranian foster for the sickest and now sweeetest poodle, twiggy!   She’s super resilient, sweet and cheerful, a bundle a joy!  [the pomeranian was adopted by another family who had come to meet Twiggy].

Please see photos I hope Sally can post on her blog to encourage others to foster sick, not so great looking dogs who can transform and blossom with some love and care

Thank you!
Amazing all the time and effort and Cindy pours in to do the not-so-fun part of rescue work!"

All of the new poodles, plus one pom (Butter), went for their vet checks today, and funnily they all had ISO chips, another type of microchip not used in Hong Kong (the system her is AVID).  Dogs imported from overseas usually have ISO chips, so these may have been from breeders originally.

We still have other poodles that came to us earlier, as well as adorable Nettie, a bichon frise who is currently in a foster home.  Nettie is an incredibly sweet girl who would be perfect for a family with children.  Take a look at the video below:

  1. Good luck to all the babies in finding a new family. I can't understand why Nettie hasn't been snapped up yet. She is sweet and happy in this video, and bichon frise are extremely healthy and live longer than most small dogs, and you won't have any allergies with these dogs. Good luck, Nettie, your day will come soon!
