Lucky Squash |
Just as we'd hoped, there have been a few enquiries about the three Pekingese ex-breeder dogs that we took from AFCD the other day, and in fact one of them was adopted today. This lucky lady is Squash, leaving Gherkin and Pumpkin as currently still available. Gherkin, the boy, will be having surgery on Saturday so he'll be looking pretty gruesome for a while, and Pumpkin has her appointment on Monday. Hopefully she'll already be in a home by then, or at least have a home standing by.
With the four newest puppies now in foster care, I'm thrilled that their sweet mother, Sugar, has also been offered a home, currently just a foster but at least a place where she can recover from being full of milk and the loss of her pups. I can't step into the mind of a mother who's suddenly separated from her puppies, but at least at a month old they're fully able to eat on their own and will be happy enough with the company of a sibling. For Sugar herself, we'll plan to get her desexed as soon as she's settled, and it won't be too long before her body gets back into shape.
I'm sure you know that our regular Puppy Party takes place at Whiskers N Paws, Horizon Plaza, every Sunday from 2pm to 4pm, but just as we'd got back into the swing of things following the Christmas and New Year holidays, there will by another break on Sunday 22nd January for Chinese New Year.
However, all of our Homing Centres will be open throughout, meaning Tai Po, both of the Kennedy Town locations and 22 Elgin Street, Soho. You don't need to make an appointment to visit any location, but we do ask that you complete the adoption questionnaire in advance and wait for a reply. We try to get back to everyone within a day, although that's not always possible.
