Ginny and Mr Turtle |
I had to share these funny and sweet photos of schnauzer Ginny in her foster home, where she and the resident turtle have struck up an unusual friendship. In fact while Mr Turtle sleeps on Ginny's bed, she lies on the floor (which I'm sure is a huge upgrade from her previous breeder's cage). If that doesn't make you smile I don't know what will.

I should mention that another of the ex-breeder dogs, poodle Grace, was supposed to go to a foster home too, but that didn't work out in the end. If anyone can offer Grace a temporary recovery home please do let Cindy know by emailing foster@hongkongdogrescue.com (or foster.hkdr@gmail.com). Grace had some serious repair surgery, but I'm sure she'll heal quickly now it's all over. (I mistakenly said in yesterday's post that Grace was a schnauzer).
The second poodle, Gina, has also now been desexed, and schnauzer Gala is booked in for Friday (with fingers crossed that she won't be in as bad a condition as Grace and Ginny were).
Gaby was the only non-breeder dog, now adopted |
Thanks to the weather it was a quiet day today, but we did see one older puppy leave our Kennedy Town Homing Centre. Harper is now sister to another ex-HKDR dog, Inky, and I hope they're soon best friends too.
Inky is the smaller one, Harper larger |
We've had a few people asking about whether they can donate to HKDR using their consumption vouchers, and the answer is yes, absolutely! What we have specially requested are extras that don't fall within our general budgeting, like the real meat dog treats and chews that all of the dogs love. In fact we've teamed up with Whiskers N Paws for a special "CV" offer, which is a mix-and-match "Buy 3 get 1 Free", with delivery direct to HKDR. Thank you in advance for all the happiness that your donations will bring to our dogs (yum yum)!
