Thurs 2nd Aug: Jill and Misty's move

I love this clever artwork showing all of the Lonely Hearts Clug dogs
Our driver has a couple of days off so that also means a break from routine for me as well, although I am glued to my computer or phone for a large part of the day as usual.  There is always a lot to do behind the scenes, and at this time of year that includes the gala fundraiser, Sarge'n'Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club which takes place on Saturday 13th October,  and also Peak to Fong in November. There are also the adoption enquiries which have to be replied to of course, and surrender requests.

The problem with having a successful track record for finding dogs good homes is that it's assumed we can do the same for all dogs whose owners don't want to keep, or take with them when they move or leave Hong Kong.  Many people think we will just post their dogs on Facebook or our website as if we didn't already have six hundred-plus dogs already under our care and in need of homes, but it doesn't work that way.   Anyone wanting to give up their dogs for adoption are required to complete the Surrender Form (which can be found on our website) and then we will see what can be done.  Completing the form doesn't automatically mean we can or will accept the dogs, as there is always a limit to our means and my patience.

Misty is already helping out at the WNP office
Following the double adoption of Whiskers'N'Paws residents Lottie and Impi, two new puppies were chosen to take their place.  The lucky pair were Jill and Misty, so they will be staying there until they too find their own forever homes.

Another lucky Ap Lei Chau dog also left to begin his new life after having been left behind at a grooming shop.  Popcorn had no microchip or means of identification when he was abandoned, but his age was estimated at three years so that is now his legal birthday.

Popcorn has a lovely new home now
