Sun 9th July: Raffle and sunshine

Eva officiated at the Raffle Draw, assisted by long-term volunteer Michelle
As if by magic the skies cleared and it stayed dry for the entire afternoon at Whiskers N Paws, and the Raffle Draw took place as planned without a hitch alongside the free cupcakes and fresh lemonade laid on for the occasion (with many thanks to Whiskers N Paws).  The winning numbers will be announced on Facebook shortly, and thanks to everyone who participated.  Regular volunteer photographer Eric Tang was on hand to record the proceedings, as well as take many fantastic shots of the puppies.
Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) added 111 new photos to the album Puppy Adoption Day 9 July 2017 — at Whiskers N Paws
Eden is going to be a small-sized adult

Apart from the weather there was another surprise when I was watching puppy Eden and thinking to myself that her body shape looked more like a dog than a puppy, so I picked her up to check her teeth and found that she was five months old (front adult teeth are in place).   And Eden isn't the only puppy growing up as there are a few five-monthers now, with a baby tooth found lying around to prove it.
Enzo has grown into a real Scooby-Doo

Enzo is one of them, and I'm not the only one to be in awe of his handsome looks and huge paws. Who could have guessed that this tiny two week-old would grown into such a beautiful puppy, and we can assume that he will be a stunning - and large - adult. Enzo also loves people and I've watched him on Sunday afternoons as he goes to complete strangers to sit by them, or to lie on their laps.

Edward
Edward is another small five-monther, and while his siblings Sandy and Ginger have already been taken he's still waiting.   A lot of potential adopters are concerned about the ultimate size of the puppies, and while it's usually impossible to be sure about the young ones I have a feeling that Callum is also not going to be a big adult, and I think I can see the beginnings of a gorgeous fuzzy face too.

Artie was formally adopted today
Some of the younger puppies went to foster homes today but only Artie had his adoption paperwork completed, although older puppy Paisley's foster parents confirmed that they would be keeping her.
Paisley didn't need to come today

Doberman girl Charis from Tai Po also had her adoption confirmed, as well as her new name Maro.
Charis is now Maro
