Sat 8th July: Happiness is a big garden

Mole is now Rosie
There was more good news for two puppies whose fosters confirmed they would be staying for ever, one of whom was Mole-now-Rosie, a black lab-alike girl.  Now there's only Inky left from that particular litter of four, and she'll be at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday if you are interested.

The other one was Artie, the last of the black-and-tan ex-breeder pups who had actually been taken a few weeks ago on a foster-with-a-view to adopt basis, and whose status has just been made permanent. Thank goodness, as the last thing we need is to have any puppies coming back while we have a whole line of them waiting for homes.
I'm not sure which of the litter this was

There were a surprising number of visitors to our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre given the continuing on-off rain, while at Tai Po the second of the three sisters who moved up there recently was chosen today.  Dolly will be going to her new home on Wednesday, so now there's only Nova left waiting.
With Ruth and Dolly chosen, only Nova is waiting

Minty and friend
My new almost hairless orphan, Minty, is eating well and sleeping a lot, which is good for her I think.  Although she's on her own in her Giant Cage she can see and touch noses with all of the big dogs so I don't think she feels too lonely, but I gave her a toy in the hope that she would at least have something to lie next to.  I haven't seen her paying the toy any attention, but since it moved from the middle of the area to being next to her I have to assume she took it there.

We love getting updates from our adopters about ex-HKDR dogs, and even more so when they are from countries where dogs are so much more accepted as part of daily life than in Hong Kong.  Here's Mo in England shortly after getting off the plane and finding out what a real garden is.  That's happiness!
