Thurs 8th Sept: Tahoe's second chance

Tahoe packed up and ready to go
Tahoe was today's lucky Tai Po dog as he left the Homing Centre not just to go to a new home, but to board a flight to England where he will be living with his now ex-volunteer adopter.  In fact by the time anyone is reading this Tahoe will probably already be on British soil and beginning his new life.

I have known Tahoe since he was a baby puppy, one of four lab-alikes that I took from AFCD and who left with adopters while they were still at Acorn after having been checked and vaccinated.  They were so lovely they were snatched up before ever getting as far as any adoption afternoon.   However, unlike his siblings who all became much loved family members, Tahoe ended up coming back to us after I had some serious concerns about his situation and how it was affecting him, and the fact that he was handed back without a word of objection when I suggested it spoke volumes.  Now he is being given his second chance and I'm sure this time it will be a final and forever goodbye.

Two of these lovely boys are now at Ap Lei Chau
While Tahoe was leaving Tai Po, two of the basenji trio that I'd mentioned before were arriving at Ap Lei Chau following their desex and dental treatment at Acorn.  These are the sons of the third basenji, who was given to someone else (and without the vet treatment that I had insisted on). I have given them the names of Baz and Benji and they are now available for adoption, and I hope they don't have to wait too long.  They are small-sized dogs and very lovely, and I know they must be quite traumatised at suddenly finding themselves in amongst all the other dogs at the Homing Centre, as all newcomers are.  If you are interested in adopting one or both of these boys please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt).

Bramley suddenly appeared back at Ap Lei Chau
We had another surprise returnee to Ap Lei Chau today when Bramley the Scottie suddenly appeared back from his foster home, so he's another boy who needs a new place to stay.  If it seems from the photo that Bramley only has one ear, that's because it's so.  He had chronic ear infection before coming to us which resulted in him losing one (the same as corgi Emily, a very sweet girl who is also waiting for a home).
Emily is currently in a foster home
