Mon 2nd May: Another short week

These 6 adorable baby girls will be waiting for you at Whiskers N Paws next Sunday
Once again we have a lot to pack into a short week as there are puppies waiting to be picked up from AFCD in Sheung Shui to be ready for next Sunday's puppy afternoon,  as well as the usual vet runs and a mountain of donated dog food to be shifted out of Whiskers N Paws and over to Tai Po and Lamma.  Whiskers N Paws have been so amazingly generous and supportive over many years, and it's impossible to thank owner Vada, and her lovely team, enough. But I'll say thank you nonetheless.

We have already taken the first batch of donated dog food, but there is still a mountain to move

Thank you too to our newest Sunday volunteer photographer for coming along and getting some wonderful shots of our puppies and adoptions.  This week it was Paula Weston who donated her time and skill, and you can view the whole set on our Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) Facebook page.

Often on my days at home I just spend time hanging out with the dogs, trying to give them all some attention, and treats if I have them available. All of my Lamma dogs came to me as young puppies who, for one reason or another, never found homes.  Some of them were adopted and ended up being returned, many of them have never even been given a chance.

Manuka was one of those who did go to a home for a while but came back, while little Hadrian was a shy baby who was never quite bold enough to be chosen.  He's completely comfortable with being petted now, which is what happens to most dogs once they reach maturity.   All of my Lamma dogs can be sponsored via the Life Saver Club programme, and if you would like to help by "adopting" your own Lamma dog please contact Shaline at lifesaver@hongkongdogrescue.com for details.
Hadrian is a small dog, about the size of a Sheltie
Manuka was the only one of her litter not to be adopted, and she is a sweet girl who loves attention
