Tues 11th Dec: Just a pair of turtles today

It's scary how quickly the days fly by and now it's almost Christmas, although I don't mark the event in my house as the dogs would only eat any decorations as soon as they went up.  Today's victims were a light bulb (rescued just in time) and a make-up mirror, so you can see they're not fussy.

Martha occupied a donated sofa at Tai Po Homing Centre
It was a fairly uneventful day for the dogs, with just a quick stop at AFCD to get a license update for rottweiler Martha, a beautiful and very sweet girl in case anyone is looking for a large and warm body to cuddle during the cold weather.  She really is such a lovely dog,  very easy, calm and undemanding.

I also met up with the adopter of poodle Dusty who was  getting her rabies vaccination, and what a happy little dog she is. Her new family are delighted with their new addition, and so they should be.

Funny Penelope
Things are also going well with the young Frenchie-cross girl, Penelope (Penny), who is also proving to be an incredibly happy and loving dog, as well as being very cute in a funny-faced kind of way.

Tiny Tilda can sit quietly in your arms for hours
For any of the dogs, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt) as a first step towards taking one home, or contact Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can look after a dog or puppy temporarily.  Tiny poodle Tilda is having knee surgery for a wobbly kneecap and will need a quiet place to stay without any of the jumping up and down that she loves to do for attention.  Tilda is four years old and the sweetest girl who loves being carried.

I did manage to find homes for two turtles that had been handed in to the AFCD kennels, so it wasn't a totally lost day in terms of adoptions, but I'm really hoping that we can get more dogs and puppies into homes by the holidays.
Just some of the babies waiting for homes

This Saturday we'll be at Concordia Pet Care in Happy Valley, and back at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday afternoon.

You can also meet - and adopt - puppies an day of the week at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, 5 Wai Fung Street, open 10am to 6pm.
