Sun 9th Dec: Our lovely dogs at Freespace Happening

Gypsy's happy smile
Luckily it stayed dry for the Freespace Happening outdoor event, and once again our lovely dogs proved themselves to be stars.  Gypsy, Jade and others were happy to greet, kiss and accept pats from everyone, and I think it's about time they were chosen to go to a loving family home.  Thanks to volunteer Venus for this touching YouTube video of the afternoon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6pRr6Ab8-s&feature=youtu.be
Sweet and gentle Jade

It wasn't such a great day elsewhere, with one of our Tai Po dogs having to be rushed to Acorn after becoming very ill and baby pup Dylan already in hospital and not improving.

Funny-faced Penelope
We also took in two new dogs at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, one of which is a very cute-funny one year-old cross of a French and English bulldog from the looks of her.  Unfortunately while being lovely with people she's not great with other dogs, a typical Frenchie trait.  It doesn't help that so many dogs are under-socialised as puppies, so we're looking for a home that has space to allow Penelope to run around and play while undergoing training.  She's apparently fine with other dogs in the home, larger dogs at least, and having a big friend to play with will certainly help with Penelope's rehabilitation, at least as far as changing a breed's inherent behaviour allows.  If you can offer this type of home please complete the Adoption Questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt) as a first step.
This poor shiba also has a tight muzzle scar on its face

The other dog that arrived was a shiba inu who has a bad back, so she will need veterinary attention first thing on Monday.

Unfortunately the afternoon at Whiskers N Paws was marred by an ugly incident involving two extremely unpleasant individuals.  Sadly these types are everywhere and today they just happened to be on the terrace where our older puppies were happily playing while the youngsters stayed indoors.   Luckily CCTV was able to capture most of what happened and I will be following up with the police.

Jimmy Tsang was today's photographer and as always the album is full of lovely shots of the puppies  Puppy Adoption Day 9 December 2018
Milky's just one of many puppies waiting for a home

The puppies are available to meet and adopt any day of the week at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, and will also be at Concordia Pet Care in Happy Valley next Saturday.
