Mon 6th Feb: A day for Tai Po dogs

I'd completely forgotten about Handsome (left)
It about time we had some happy adoption news from Tai Po, and two of these dogs date back to our Pokfulam Kennels days.  One of them has actually been in a home for some years but it's only now that his adoption will be formalised.  In truth I'd forgotten all about him, or rather the fact that he was taken for "fostering" because he was a bit of a handful, so when Kathy told me today that Handsome's adoption paperwork would be completed it was more than a surprise.  Some long-terms volunteers will still remember Handsome and why he was given that name, and he still is a good-looking boy.
Kong and Apple

The other ex-Pokfulam dog is Kong and he too has waited a very long time.  His adopter was a volunteer back then, and she made a promise to both Kong and sister Ling Ling that one day she would take them home.  Since Ling Ling (now Evie) has since been adopted by someone else, it was Apple who was chosen in her place.  Obviously there are going to be a lot of smiles at the Homing Centre with the news about Kong (and Apple), and many thanks to their adopter for keeping a promise made all that time ago.
Valerie left Tai Po today

Valerie was also a Pokfulam dog who was promised a home a long time ago, and today was the day when she finally left Tai Po for ever.

The other lucky Tai Po is a newcomer by comparison, and she is Zoe, a very sweet girl who was surrendered to AFCD by her previous owner.  She's settled so well with her new family and is loved by everyone.
