RIP dear Rambo |
After the elation of getting lost dog Kirsten home on Monday, there was sadness today when Rambo died on his way to the vet after suffering a seizure. He had only just been taken in by an extremely kind foster parent even though we suspected he was not going to live for very long, and in the end he was only there for a day. Some cases are really very sad and I wish we could have given him time to enjoy his final days, but he was obviously a lot sicker than we had realised.
While one life ended another five lives began, although really it was a couple of days ago that this litter of puppies made their entrance to the world. We were asked by AFCD if we could accept them, and our wonderful Foster Coordinator Cindy quickly got to work finding them temporary homes while I had to come up with names that weren't already in use. That's harder than it might sound, but with well over four hundred dogs under our care at any given time, it's often the case that I'm reminded we already have a dog with the same name.
Sassy went home today |
Two more adoptions took place at our Kennedy Town Centres, with another of the "S" litter leaving, and smaller sized adult Barbie also being chosen.
Barbie left our Kennedy Town Centre today |
With Sassy's adoption there is now only one of the "S" puppies left, and funnily it's the smallest of them all and the one that looks most like her mother, Stella.
Stella |
(4 year-old, girl, small sized, 7kg)
Stella is the mother of the “S” puppies. She is a very friendly and sweet girl who welcomes us every time with her wagging tail. If you are interested in adopting Stella, please take the first step by completing the adoption questionnaire.

Ming with Damson-Dau Dau |
Ming's first assignment on Thursday when he returns to work will be to pick up some puppies from AFCD Sheung Shui. I'm assuming these are from the many smuggling cases that have been reported over the past year or so, and as the cases are resolved the puppies are released for re-homing. We already have a home together for the two labradors that are part of this group, but the others are at this point still available. They are a whippet girl (Willow), Maltese boy (Willi), and a Japanese spitz boy (Wizard), all five to 6 months old, with an one year-old Scottish terrier who will be called Walter. If interested please complete the questionnaire, and we will choose the home that we feel can offer the best life for these puppies.
