Fri 16th Dec: Blast from the past (as well as the icy wind)

Even if I don't have any puppy adoptions from Kennedy Town to write about there's something even better as far as I'm concerned,  as two doglets who started off life with HKDR as young puppies went home together.  Evan and Edgar were always a bit shy, so seeing that they will always have each other to rely on is really wonderful.

That's Dave nibbling my ear

As it happens their adopter took a dog from me back in the days when all of the dogs lived with me on Lamma, and he said that was about twenty years ago.  I even have a photo of myself and Dave from those long-ago days, so even though he has long since gone I remembered him well and was happy knowing that Evan and Edgar would be well looked after.
This is a cage and it's too small

We haven't been having much luck with our recent puppy fosters over the past week, as the puppies have been coming back as fast as they're going out.  It's either allergy problems, diarrhoea or sleepless nights, with even the neighbours calling the police in one case because of the noise of crying puppies.  Really there shouldn't be any crying if there's a pair of puppies unless they are confined in a small space, which is just one of the many reasons why we don't support or like what's called crate training.  Whether it's a crate, cage or a too-small pen, puppies need to be able to move away from their bed and food/water for toilet needs (especially if they have an upset stomach), so there has to be a space that's large enough to allow for this.  We suggest using a gate or fence to block off a room, ideally the kitchen for easy cleaning, where puppies can be safe but at the same time have a large enough area that they don't feel trapped.
