Sun 17th May: Thunderstorm warning

Macy has obviosuly been a family dog before
The update on foster dog Macy is that she's doing really well, is toilet trained and very well behaved, and seems to have settled right in after just a short time.  We don't know how long Macy was at the Wonderland shelter but we do know she spent almost a year at AFCD after being rescued from that hellish scenario, but dogs are so incredible at just accepting and living in the present.  I had asked for an update after thinking about Macy during the night of thunder and rain, and how happy I was knowing that she was safe and dry inside her temporary home.  If you're interested in meeting Macy with a view to adopting, please contact Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com to arrange.

Another dog who was lucky to be inside for the night was Milo, a fairly recent arrival at Tai Po from AFCD and really double lucky because he didn't have to wait too long for his new forever family.

I don't know about your dogs but while some aren't bothered at all by storms, many are totally terrified and it's at these times that dogs kept outside run away in their fear.   Quite a few of my Lamma dogs choose to sleep outside under the shelter of the porch and with a large fan to cool them down, but as soon as the first sign of lightning and thunder they were hammering on the door to be let inside.  Now that the season of storms is here and this coming week is forecast to be much of the same, please make sure your dogs are safely inside.  Too many are lost and some never found again.

We'll be starting the week with more dogs coming in from the Wonderland case, and some small dogs too, although not many and not youngsters.
