Sun 10th Dec: Christmas Party at Whiskers N Paws

Big thanks to Pippa for a very generous Two Presents donation
As anticipated Whiskers N Paws was packed with people and their dogs wanting to have their photo take with Santa, and to enjoy the festive offerings and atmosphere.  Nobody puts on a show like the Whiskers N Paws team, and they were also decked out in matching red and white outfits, as were many of the visiting dogs I noticed.  I wasn't able to get my own Santa photo until the very end of the afternoon as we were pretty busy out on the terrace too, even though there were only two confirmed adoptions and a very generous Two Presents donation from Pippa.  Unfortunately in all of the ongoing construction work that's taking place, as well as the party, the Giant Cheque couldn't be located so we had to make do with the blackboard.

Grace is now a family member
It was finally Grace's big day as she became the newest member of her family, while one brand new baby was adopted even before I had thought of a name for her and her sister so we had to make do with "My Puppy" for the adoption board. (I still  have a dog called Puppy Girl on Lamma, and she is about nine years old now).
"My Puppy" found a home before she found a name

Some other puppies left for fostering or trial adoption, including Betty's brother Turner and another one of the new pups, who had been given a name - Coco.   I don't know why Betty is the one from her litter left behind as she is growing into such a sweet and pretty girl, but at least she is in a foster home and learning a lot while there.
Beautiful Betty

Sadly Bina had to be returned from her foster home and come back to Lamma with me, but I can really highly recommend her as a fantastic five month-old who is still small for her age and I'm guessing will be no bigger than medium as an adult.  On top of that she has a very sweet and easy personality and would make a wonderful family member, as would Harvey who is now her (hopefully temporary) companion.   He is also a wonderful dog, very calm and easy, even if he will be quite a big bigger when grown.
Bina and Harvey are back together for now

Elena Mathew was our volunteer photographer at Whiskers N Paws today, and she did a fantastic job especially as it was quite challenging with so many visitors and double the number of legs.
Harvey is very popular with the other puppies

Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) added 177 new photos to the album Puppy Adoption Day 10 December 2017 — at Whiskers N Paws

Another group of HKDR dogs and volunteers were at the West Kowloon Freespace Happening today, and from all accounts it was a great day with lots of happy visitors.

Volunteers with Tai Po dogs Pip, Sander, Otis, Kenny and ex-HKDR dog Bernie, now Bodhi
