Weds 5th Oct: A dozen surprises

The dogs are all small or medium sized

As always it was a completely out-of-the-blue message that arrived in the morning asking if we could collect an unknown number of dogs from Sai Kung, and again as almost happens it was on driver Ming's day off.  The only option was to arrange for a van to pick the dogs up, however that in itself was no easy task as driver after driver say no to the "dirty and smelly" load, despite the fact that the dogs were in crates. It took the Kennedy Town team hours to finally find an agreeable driver, and the dogs eventually arrived late in the afternoon.
The important business of play started as soon as the dogs arrived

Apart from one who is a bit older (Smithy), they're all young dogs or puppies (like 4 month-old Skittle), most no more than a year old (based on the teeth photos I was sent).  They're also happy and friendly boys and girls, obviously relieved to be out of their travel crates and to be able to start playing. I posted a quick message on Facebook mentioning that we had new dogs on the way, and I think the black poodle girl Simone is already spoken for, assuming the Thursday meeting goes well.  For all of the others, as always please start by completing the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/ and wait for a reply before coming to visit.   There are full photos of all the dogs if you're interested in any particular ones and would like to know more, but we'll need to get everyone to a vet for a health check and vaccinations, as well as being microchipped and licensed.

After months of planning our 2022 Flag Day is almost here, one of the very few fundraising opportunities that we've been able to go ahead with.  As such, it's a really big deal and we hope that you'll all stop and drop some notes into the volunteers' collection bags when you see them out on the streets of Hong Kong Island this Saturday.
