Sun 10th June: Two out, two in

Anna's new dads were really impressed at how smart Anna was
It was a big day at Whiskers N Paws, not because there were a lot of adoptions but the two puppy guests that had been staying at the store full time both went off to their new homes today, which meant another couple could move in.  Pebble and Anna had done so well during their stay, learning lots of important things and getting used to being around many different people, and Pebble in particular had also changed from a shy boy into one who was really enjoying everything about his life.  Choosing their replacements was tough because there were many candidates, and the Lamma pups especially,  but in the end it was Carla and Penny that made the cut.  By the time I left to go home, Carla was already doing amazingly well with her training, while Penny was busy chewing (a bit nervously) on a cow hoof.  Her turnaround will come soon I'm sure.
After everyone had left, Carla and Penny started to get to know each other

Eric Tang was once again our volunteer photographer, and he got so many great shots today.  I can't emphasise enough how tough it is to capture the puppies when they are busy running around and playing but Eric makes it look easy: Puppy Adoption Day 10 June 2018
This is how the puppies spend the afternoon

Clever boy Pepper!
Penny's brother's Sailor and Beano had to come back to Lamma with me, and I would really love them to be in a foster home so they can start to move forward with their training too.  Another pup, Pepper, had the benefit of a great foster home and amazed everyone with his routine of tricks that he'd been taught in a very short time.  In fact it won him a trial home today, so he is now a potential brother to another ex-HKDR puppy, Wilma-now-Lola.  Good luck Pepper!

Marsha was another beautiful puppy who was taken for a trial adoption, and I hope she won't be back.
Beautiful Martha

Getting everyone in and looking at the camera was difficult
There was a very generous donation from young Amelia who shared all of her birthday gifts with HKDR.  The photo had to include everyone in the family, including the three dogs, so getting everyone to look at the camera at the same time was a challenge, and it was Amelia herself who unfortnately missed this shot.
