Sun 4th Dec: A happy Sunday

Raven and her sister Cambie
I'll start with the Tai Po news first, and the adoption of Raven who became new sister to Cambie, also an ex-HKDR dog and one I recognised as ex-Custard because of her distinctive butterfly nose.
Cambie was Custard and here's her adoption photo

Doberman Tessa will also be going for a trial, and it's great news as we saw her revert to her previous playful and happy self after her first home didn't work out.
This labrador has no microchip

At the same time we took in a labrador that had been left tied to a fence somewhere, and as he doesn't have a microchip there is no way of tracing any owner.  Not that I feel any great urge to even try, but if you know this dog or think he's yours you'd better be quick to claim him as he'll be licensed under my name by Monday and will be put up for adoption.
Sweet Funny Girl has a home now

Lovely Funny Girl at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre was also offered a home, and she will be going after her desexing surgery on Tuesday.  I didn't think it would take long for this sweet dog to be adopted, and I'm happy to be right.

Fletcher and his new family
It was another busy afternoon at Whiskers N Paws, and a few puppies left to start new lives, or for a trial with resident dogs and cats.  The Westie that I'd mentioned previously was also handed over to his new family by his foster parents, so he can be added to our total for the day.

New daddy

New mama
Adorable Yoda melted the hearts of his new parents, and I thought I vaguely recognised his new mother although I'm really not very good at remembering faces.   It turned out that she had adopted a dog from me years ago, and some of the longer-term volunteers may also remember Kira from way back.  She's an old lady now and slowing down, but she's had a lovely life and I'm happy that Yoda will also be going to this very nice home.
Does anyone else remember Kira?
Billy and Benjamin

Mara is now Sadie
Beautiful fluffy boys Billy and Benjamin finally had to say goodbye to each other as Benjamin was chosen, as did sisters Mara and Edith as Mara became Sadie and Edith was adopted by her foster home.  In fact I called her Edith because that's the name of her foster mother who had been taking care of both sisters since they were really very young babies, and I'd never got around to choosing a name.
Foster Edith kept this sister

Bilbo's would-be adopters have everything explained
Bilbo was the last of the three lookalike brothers to be chosen, and he will need to get on with the resident cats before his adoption can be finalised.   It's almost always the cats who make the final decision in these cases as puppies are pretty adaptable and are happy to have cat friends, so I hope he is accepted.

Coolio has been great with his foster family's young children
Foster dog Coolio has been with his temporary family for a long time as he came to us with a broken leg and needed a home where he could recover.  His leg has long since mended but he still pretends that there is a problem, something that often happens when there has been a painful injury.  Eventually he'll start to use it normally, and it certainly didn't stop him from playing today.  I'd been told that Coolio was quite small, and saw for myself that he really is no more than medium sized so perfect for msot Hong Kong homes,  He's also great with small children and other dogs, so is ready-made for adoption.

To top off a great day we had another lovely donation from Lara, whose family adopted then-puppy Bacon many years ago.
A lovely donation to help our Tai Po renovations
