Sun 20th March: Newborns and seniors

These five were joined by a sixth later

I was surprised to hear that there had been heavy rain in the New Territories as we'd had  none on Lamma, and as so often happens during downpours a litter of newborn puppies ended up being washed out of their hillside nest.   I can't imagine how many other puppies lose their lives in this way because those that come to us are all found in one small area by the same volunteer, so it's safe to assume there must be a lot.  We call these newborns rain babies, and thanks to both the rescuer and Cindy, we have three foster homes ready to take in a pair each when the pups are dropped off on Monday.

We still have puppies that were found this way and are now old enough to be adopted individually,  and you can see their photos and videos on Instagram @why_i_foster and @typhoon_k_puppies.  As well as these puppies there are many more in foster homes that you can meet, and you can see details on our HKDR Facebook page Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR)

Ivan was surrendered as a senior

Over at our Tai Po Homing Centre it was a lucky day for two of our seniors, one being Ivan the husky and the other Serena, who will be taken home during the week.  Serena has been with us since she was a shy puppy in 2014, so she's waited a very long time for this day to arrive.
