Sat 5th March: Puppy parade

Unfortunately the puppy parade isn't taking place at Whiskers N Paws or any one physical location, but all of the participants have been put together in three separate groups of photos so you can at least take a look at who's available.  All of the puppies shown are in foster homes spread across Hong Kong and the New Territories, so if it helps to make a decision on who to meet first then you could start with the ones living closest to your home.   Our hard-working and dedicated Foster Coordinator, Cindy, will arrange the meetings for you, but please start by completing the adoption questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/, and you can mention the puppies you'd like to meet by name on the form.

There's a lot of worry in the dog-owning community about what would happen if there's a lockdown in Hong Kong, and if we would still be able to walk our dogs.   There's also the question of who would be considered essential workers, meaning that they would be allowed to leave their homes to carry out their duties.  It seems almost unreal to even have to be writing about this, but if there really is a lockdown then I would also be writing to AFCD and Carrie Lam to ensure that the staff working at all and any dog shelters would be considered essential.  After all, many of the dogs and puppies were taken from AFCD Animal Management Centres in the first place, so it would be ironic if they weren't considered important enough for their caretakers to be thought of as essential.
