Such a happy photo of two lucky dogs |
I really want to share a lovely photo and video of Mavis and Donut in their new home, showing that the long (and frustrating) wait for Donut to be chosen was well worth it in the end. He came to us as a puppy and left as a young adult, with no reason why he saw his siblings and many others leave before him. Mavis was already a young adult when we took her (and her brother) from AFCD, and being at the same age now these two can be together as very best friends for the rest of their lives.
Stanley has a loving new family |
Our other two adoptions are both already older, but hopefully they still have many years ahead of them in their new homes. Stanley the poodle was lucky to end up with us because he was cryptorchid, meaning one testicle was still inside his body, and this often leads to cancer. Now he's had surgery and can look forward to a new and happy life with his loving family.
Oliver was a popular boy judging from the number of enquiries I received, but now he's been adopted so is obviously no longer available.
Funny little Oliver |
Although we will be holding our regular Sunday puppy party at Whiskers N Paws, realistically we're not expecting a huge turnout of potential adopters. There are plenty of puppies in foster homes who are ready and waiting for new forever families, and they include latest recruit Luke, as well as the two remaining "Bread Babies", Baguette and Brioche. The "K" litter are also big enough to be adopted individually, and there are five out of the six still available. All of these puppies came as almost-newborns and have been in loving, caring foster homes where they have all been given the best possible start in life. The ideal situation would be for them to move straight from their current foster homes to forever families, and if you would like to meet any of them directly, please email Cindy at foster@hongkongdogrescue.com to arrange an appointment.
Luke is the latest foster puppy to reach adoption age |
Today's update on Alicia is that she's walking around, and now quite keen to get out of her pen. If she continues to improve she can move back to Lamma to be with her friends and the environment she feels comfortable in. It really seems like a miracle that she's made such a quick recovery, and we're all thrilled and very happy for her.
