Fri 14th Jan: Trusting our own judgement

Luna is now Kala

Coming to the end of an exciting week with some more happy adoption news to share, I'm feeling optimistic about the weekend ahead.  I'd already mentioned that puppy Luna had been chosen at Whiskers N Paws last Sunday, and today was the day when she left her foster home and moved in with her new parents as Kala.

This really is a big event in any puppy's life, a momentarily sad and difficult one when it's the first time they have been separated from the siblings they have known since birth.  In this case it's Lucas who stayed behind in the foster home, although for a while it was on the cards that the two would be adopted as a pair.  In the end, as the family will soon be moving to Singapore (with their puppy of course), it was decided that one would be better.  There are actually quite a few "L" puppies still waiting for homes, and you can meet them any Sunday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm on the terrace at Whiskers N Paws, Horizon Plaza.

I'm so happy for Bagel

More happy news came from Tai Po as older puppy Bagel was adopted, not long after he left his temporary "home" as one of the resident puppies at Whiskers N Paws.  Not having any luck while staying there with his friend Wilson, Bagel moved to the big Homing Centre, but not for long as it turned out.  I really hope that Bagel's luck will rub off on Wilson, another seriously sweet boy who will make a wonderful family member.

Pretty please give me a home (Wilson)

Remy had been semi-adopted before, and by that I mean he had been set to fly to Finland to start a new life there until restrictions on flights ended that particular dream.  It was obviously very disappointing, but I'm happy to report that Remy now has a wonderful new home here in Hong Kong.

Another chance for sweet Remy

As I have said many times, the dogs and puppies have no choice when it comes to the homes they end up going to, so we have to be their voice and do our very best to make sure they will be loved and happy in their new families.  When we make a mistake, which sometimes happens because sadly not everyone is honest, it hurts, but I'm confident that all of today's lucky dogs will have the best lives ahead of them.
