Sun 15th July: Good luck Rocco!

We may not have had any adoption at Whiskers N Paws today, but we did get some great shots from this week's volunteer photographer Tatiana Yankovskaya and you can see them all by clicking on this link:
Puppy Adoption Day 15 July 2018
Many, if not most, of the puppies shown here are staying full time at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre so you can meet them any day between 10am and 6pm for adoption or fostering.
Rocco came back to us in March

At Tai Po it was Rocco who left first thing in the morning for his trial adoption, a second chance for a very sweet dog who was first adopted as a baby at Whiskers N Paws, then returned to us at a year old.  This time round I'm sure it's going to be for ever.

Snowy is just adorable
The last of the three show poodles was adopted today and was just leaving the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre when I dropped off the puppies after Whiskers N Paws.  The family also adopted a Japanese spitz from us a few years ago and I saw some photos of a very happy and lovely dog, so I know Snowy is in good hands.
Scuba found a home even with his bad knees

Earlier in the day Yorkie boy Scuba finally left, and although there had been a lot of interest in him when he first arrived the fact that he needs surgery on his luxating knees put adopters off.

As usual, as dogs leave new ones arrive, and today it was a schnauzer, brought to us in a cage that had been her 24-hour a day home for the past six years.  There wasn't even a cover on the wire bottom of the cage, and how anyone can think this is acceptable is beyond me.  If taking care of a dog is too much trouble then don't have one.  If I had known the full story when I saw the woman there with the dog I would have had some strong words for her.  As it is the poor schnauzer girl, now ten years old, can finally walk freely on the ground for the first time in far too long.
Just feeling solid ground on her paws must be heaven
