Tues 20th March: Wines and puppies

Baby Zoey, now Bailey, started her new life today
The first of the five new baby pups staying at our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre was adopted today, and those who are still with us by Saturday will be at Heal, 10 Second Street, Sai Ying Pun from 1pm to 4pm, and again on Sunday at Whiskers N Paws, 2pm to 5pm.  Of course we will have plenty of slightly older hopefuls, all now fully vaccinated and raring to go for walks and all of the exciting adventures ahead of them.
Piper (black fluffy), Avery and Lyra (tan/white) and Mason are all available

Apart from puppies, we also have something else on offer at the Education Centre (and office) across the road from our Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre, where we took in a new delivery of donated fine wines today.  We're selling these at the incredibly low price of $50 a bottle (that's $600 for a case of twelve) and there's a huge selection of reds, whites and rose to choose from.  Please come any day between 10am and 6pm to select and take home.

Hurry over to Ap Lei Chau for bargain wines

Two small Lamma dogs were sent over to Ap Lei Chau for grooming by Iris,  who by now has a lot of experience in handling less-than-easy little ones.  Kobe the poodle has yet to make it to the website for adoption as he arrived as a very scared fear biter, but he's now a very happy little boy who was easy to shave, according to Iris.  Like many other poodles, a previous life of being caged and smacked has left this boy with probably permanent behaviour issues unless he finds the right home.  For now he can stay on Lamma and enjoy his life of no pressure and no stress.

Like all small dogs, Kobe can be sweet and happy or very scared and angry

Connor is an old-timer who has been with us for many years, and his coat had grown long and shaggy over the winter months.  The thick covering was enough to hide a large lump that had appeared since Connor's last grooming session, so he was sent straight to Acorn to have it looked at.  Dr Tony extracted some cells to send off for testing, fearing that such a quick-growing lump could be cancerous, so now we will have to wait a few days for the results.

Finally, does anyone have photoshop skills to donate?  Please email Eva at eva@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can help with a couple of projects, thanks.
