Mon 12th March: Planning this year's events

Miss Pinky will be back this year!
We're always busy planning ahead, with fundraising being such an important part of what we need to do to keep the dogs fed and healthy.  I've already mentioned the date of this year's Gala Dinner as being Saturday 13th October, and the organising began some time ago as there's always a lot to do.  This year we'll have live entertainment throughout the evening to fit the theme, promising a lively and fun event with Miss Pinky back at the helm providing the laughs.  We're at the stage now of asking for donations for the auctions, live and silent, if you have anything to offer, either in the form of products or services.  Please email Nicole at nicole.hkdr@gmail.com, or myself at sallyandersen@hongkongdogrescue.com if you can support in any way.

Please also mark Sunday 15th April in your diaries for a great fun event that's going to be taking place for you and your dogs, and details will be posted very shortly.

The dogs had a great time at Cyberport on Sunday
Sunday's event at Cyberport went very well, and as it turned out I was mistaken about it all being indoors as the games took place outside.  The weather was perfect for a great afternoon, and I'm just waiting for some official update and photos, but thank you to everyone who supported.

I know what everyone wants to hear about are the adoptions, and I have a few to mention including two lucky puppies whose foster status has been upgraded to adopted.  Neither pups have official adoption photos as they didn't come to Whiskers N Paws on Sunday, but they are Celia and Stan.
Adele and her new parents

Poodle Adele left the Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre on Sunday, and we're hoping to be saying goodbye to new dachshund Dora on Tuesday, as well as one or two more poodles.

The on-off, yes-no, saga of the move to a new Ap Lei Chau Homing Centre is still continuing, as we have looked at so many potential sites as well as considering staying where we are.  We thought that one particular prospect was off the cards a while back but now it could be back on, and we (that is volunteer Catherine) has been back and forth negotiating.  I think it's true to say we all just want to settle on an agreement one way or another, but for today it's still only a maybe.
