Sun 28th July: A bit of a different kind of Puppy Party

We had a bit of a different "puppy" party on Sunday due to the weather meaning foster pups stayed away, so in the end it was almost a duplicate of Saturday's Small Dog adoption afternoon. Laura Nie was the volunteer photographer on Saturday Puppy Adoption Day 27th July 2024, while Sophie Jolly-Burkhardt was at Whiskers N Paws on Sunday  Puppy Adoption Day 28th July 2024.  Foster pups that were missing were Dudley and Flora, and Brodie and Beryl, but of course you can still meet them at their respective foster homes by arrangement with Cindy, our Foster Coordinator (email foster@hongkongdogrescue.com).  Check out the photos from last Sunday's Puppy Party for a reminder Puppy Adoption Day 21st July 2024

The baby puppies who arrived as newborns have already started eating on their own, and are no longer the blind and helpless tiny orphans they started out as. They're already available for adoption if you're open to taking a pair, as it will be a few weeks yet until they're ready to be singletons.

Funnily the Saturday adoption was puppy India, leaving her sister Impi behind, although she will almost certainly be leaving very soon too.

Over at Kennedy Town, it was ex-breeder shiba inu Aimi who was chosen to go home, while French bulldog Norton will also be leaving this coming week.

There was also happy news from Tai Po as two dogs were taken for fostering, with the potential for them to stay forever if everything works out. I'll save the names for when we know for sure that they won't be coming back.

Behind the scenes, meaning dogs and puppies that aren't at either of our Homing Centres, the last two Jack Russell puppies were adopted, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday.  Both have gone to homes where there are other dogs, so it's a perfect situation for Miriam and Badger.

As another reminder, we have several dogs on the waiting list following surrender requests, many of them huskies.  We were also asked if we could accept a pair of young shiba inu today, a male and female, with one being the black-and-tan variety and the other the standard tan.

For all adoption enquiries please start by completing the questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/.  You can find all of the available adult dogs at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/dogs/ if you want to take a look at the many that are patiently waiting for homes, although the puppies aren't posted until they're a little bit older due to the fact that they grow and change so quickly.
