Sun 1st May: At long last!

I don't know if it was the start of a new month or having our new website finally up, but today was a great one for Tai Po adoptions (and how I have longed to write those words).

Joseph has waited 6 years for this happy moment
The first to go was Joseph, who has been with us for many years so his adoption was especially heart-warming.  Thank you to his new family for giving sweet Joseph the home he has been waiting for for so long.

Next was a double adoption with Theo and Milky going to their new home as forever friends, and there is nothing better than that.

I was so happy to see April chosen
To prove a point, recently-adopted Roofie needed a friend too, and it was April who was chosen to be his sister.  She is the sweetest girl and I know they will make a very happy pair.

Mango and Lyra are best friends but at least they both have homes now
Mango and Lyra are also best buddies and it would have been perfect to see them stay together, but while Mango was taken to one home today, Lyra is due to go to another.  At least it doesn't mean one staying on her own at the Homing Centre, and I'm sure they will both be very happy to have their families to love and play with them.

Muesli (right) gets his share of tummy rubs
Although Muesli left for a trial last Sunday, it was today that I was told he wouldn't be returning to Tai Po (even if he has started stealing food from the table), so his name can also be added to the adoption list for the start of what I hope will be a fantastic month.

Also added to today's list when their adoption paperwork was completed and signed were the two "shabrador" brothers Captain and Spock, and Coco the corgi.  Coco had been surrendered to us with a large tumour on her liver which was subsequently successfully removed, and it took only a matter of days for her foster family to decide they wanted to keep her.  All being well Coco now has a long  and happy life ahead of her.

Photos from Whiskers N Paws are coming soon, so look out for them on our Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) Facebook page.
