Before anything else I need to mention that we have finally got our hongkongdogrescue.com emails back on track, something that's a huge relief after the frustration of missing messages and replies never received.
Asher has already been chosen |
After the weekend it's time to sort out the puppies that are still waiting for homes, although I'm very happy to say that even these updated group photos are already out of date as some of those included have already been chosen.
Older puppies at North Street |
Puppies at Kennedy Town Homing Centre |
Puppies in foster homes |
I wish I could share the Tai Po dogs' photos in a similar way, but there are so many of them it would take forever to do that. I can only remind everyone that we have medium to large sized older puppies and adults staying at our large Homing Centre up in the hills of Tai Po, and even more arriving from AFCD on Tuesday. To see the dogs and their profiles, please go to our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com/dogs/ where you can spend hours browsing.
Lottie (10 years old) |
We also took in another small poodle from AFCD today, a ten year-old girl now called Lottie. As usual, we don't have any information other than she was surrendered by her owner, but I feel sure that she won't have to wait too long to find a new home.
Over at HKDR@Elgin, since posting Autumn's grooming session photos and video on Facebook and Instagram, she's suddenly very popular, and I fully expect that she'll be in a home soon.
German shepherd-cross Adam will also be picked up on Tuesday after being chosen at the weekend, but there are still others available. I've mentioned the "twins" Archie and Alexi several times, and now top of the list is Abby, another very sweet girl who looks as though she might have some dachshund in her (from certain angles in a dim light). I don't care at all what breeds dogs are or aren't, as to me it's their personality that counts.
One way or another we'll have to move the remaining dogs at Elgin Street from their current downstairs area, because we have a Positive Partners training class starting on Friday, as well as other workshops booked for later in the month. For now we still need volunteers to help out, and thank you to everyone who has been coming along to clean, pet, groom and socialise the dogs. We've seen all of them (the dogs) start to open up and take interest in what's happening, those like Avery who spent the first week curled up in a ball. They're all lovely, it's only that some need to be reassured that they're safe and their life will only get better and better from now on.
