Two of the new litter of seven babies
We received seven tiny puppies this morning, delivered to our door by Kaz O'Carroll of Freedom Rides (thank you!).  It wasn't until the afternoon that I actually saw them after they'd been to Acorn for a check up, microchipping and hopefully vaccination, but the last part didn't happen as all of the babies turned out to have tick fever.   Luckily there were foster homes arranged by the time they got back to Ap Lei Chau with their supply of Liquid Gold and all the other medications that are part of the treatment, so they are now safely settled in pairs and a set of three.   Thanks not only to the families who offered to take in the puppies, but also to our Foster Cordinator Cindy who is the one to receive all messages and organise arrangements.  I know it's a tough job because I have to take over occasionally when Cindy's away and I'm always very happy when she gets back.

I've called this the "Seasons Litter", with the five girls being April, May, June, July and August and the two boy Spring and Winter.  Whatever mix they are they're going to be small-sized adults, so if anyone is interested in adopting you can do so at any time as long as you can take a pair until they're old enough to be separated.  Please complete the questionnaire at www.hongkongdogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-questionnaire/ if interested.

Scrumpy will be heading off to his new life soon
There was some good news when I checked my emails, as one of the visitors to Whiskers N Paws on Sunday confirmed the family would like to adopt Scrumpy, and although I don't usually mention names pre-going home in this case I'm sure it will happen.

Sugar's ears defy gravity

Scrumpy is currently a full time guest at Whiskers N Paws and shares his space with Sugar, a very sweet girl with remarkable ears.  Sugar was quite shy when younger but in the short time she's been at Whiskers N Paws she's really opened up and she was playing very happily last Sunday. Hopefully Sugar's turn will come soon.
