Sat 7th Sept: Stan the Man

Becky leads the HKDR team at Concordia Pet Care
We had two new volunteer photographers helping out at Concordia Pet Care, although sadly there were no adoptions to record this time.  Still, we know that many would-be adopters come more than once to meet the puppies and many have been to Happy Valley first before choosing which puppy to take home.   This first set of photos were taken by Nelson Siu  Puppy Adoption Day 7 September 2019, with Joy Chan's album here  Puppy Adoption Day 7 September 2019 - Part Two. Many thanks to both Nelson and Joy for donating their time to help the puppies find new homes.

Why adopt from HKDR?
Being without our HKDR van on Saturdays, as well as the limited space for the puppies at Concordia Pet Care, we don't send the older/bigger ones, and restrict the numbers for a maximum of ten.  However on Sundays when the weather allows we send all of the puppies to Whiskers N Paws, including those from foster homes, so there's a big variety and lots to choose from.  For those puppies lucky enough to be coming from foster homes they're already familiar with normal daily life in a family environment, so the transition is somewhat easier.  However with our very experienced trainer, Cactus, on hand to give help and advice when needed, all HKDR adopters can be sure they will receive her full support so even first-time dog owners don't need to worry.

Everyone loves Stan the Man!
One of the Stanley Barracks dogs will be going home from Tai Po soon, but as always I won't mention any names until it actually happens. However I can say that it's not Stan, although I have no idea why he's still with us as he's the most amazing dog, handsomely cute and incredibly easy.  Maybe it's because everyone at Tai Po loves him so much that they don't want him to leave, but then again I know that seeing any dog going to a real home is our reward for all the hard work.  Stan has a big family of lookalike uncles and cousins that have already been adopted, and every one of those adopters will tell you what brilliant dogs they are.  If you want to know more, or to meet Stan, just drop by our Tai Po Homing Centre any day.

Although adopted on Thursday I forgot mention little poodle Theo's leaving,  so here's the photo now.
Goodbye little Theo!
