Mon 9th Sept: The countdown has started

Only 2 weeks to go!
Before anything else I'd like to remind everyone that this year's big fundraising event "Bohemian Pupsody" is taking place in less than two weeks, so if you're planning to come and haven't yet bought tickets please do that now, or at least let us know as we need to arrange catering numbers.  All information on the event can be seen on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com/events/charityparty/sponsors/ and further information will be posted on the HKDR Facebook page over the coming two weeks.  This will include the events sponsors, without whom no fundraising event could happen so we're always incredibly grateful for such amazing support.

Bids for this incredible original wall sculpture Pelotan Wave start at HKD$120,000
We'll also be sharing the main auction items, which this year include an exclusive collector's art piece which would look amazing on any wall, home or office.  Again this is a generously donated gift from a private donor, and if you're interested in acquiring such a beautiful and original metal wall sculpture you can make outside bids. Pelotan Wave by David Gerstein ‘In memory of Ziggy & Steffi – forever loved’.

1 year-old Dini
I've written before about Dini (Houdini), a very cute young dog who got his name after running away within hours of his arrival at my neighbour's foster home.  He kept coming back to eat and say hello to his friends and was eventually caught, but it seemed at first that he had tick fever following his free life.  Tests showed that he didn't have anything wrong, and at today's vet visit his blood test was fine and he'd put on weight, but he's not at all happy since his friends were adopted and he was left on his own.  It seemed that Dini was just depressed, so the foster parents and I agreed he should move to the Homing Centre both for company and so he could meet potential adopters.  At just a year old he should be in a home by now, but we are looking for somewhere with another dog and also an adopter who understands dogs and can help Dini overcome his sadness. If you're interested please complete the adoption questionnaire on our website www.hongkongdogrescue.com (under Adopt)
Dini has plenty of friends now
